about

Demonstrations and pamphlets worked well a century ago - people could be mobilized in a factory, a union meeting, when the demonstrations would be organized for a very specific goal, like an 8 hour working day, etc. These demonstrations were motivating for the movement, often very militant and clearly showing the threat of the folk organizing themselves to the authorities. In a lot of places this is still the case nowadays, but in the western post-industrialization society, this often fails. I often catch myself feeling guilty about not attending a certain demo, although I know there is a high chance of it ending up by us being surrounded and beaten up by the cops. I know there is a big chance it will not bring anything to the movement but demotivated activists, not even talking about spreading our message. I also think that most of the regular folk, that is not necessarily involved any kind of activism, does not relate to a group of people dressed up in black trashing the city while screaming some loud slogans. I think we should look at what we are doing more critically if we want to achieve change in places we live in. We need to relate our struggle to what’s happening around us and not stick to traditions that don’t relate to modern day situations.

lyrics

Never again
I say to myself
Not letting my conscience
Get in the way

Can we change the world
Without changing our tactics?
No!!

Completely destroyed
So humiliated
They took our anger
And it turned to depression

A fight never fought
Put into iron brackets
Our flags in the air
Filled with rubber and pepper

Never again
I say to myself
New resolutions
To abandon this mess
